Sri Lanka is often called the Pearl of the Orient. It is a land of sunshine, beaches, mountains, waterfalls, tea plantations, coconut palms, spices and gems. Sri Lanka’s 1600 km of coastline contains fine beaches, wide stretches of sand, miles of clear water, pretty bays and deep natural harbours. North of Colombo is the beach of Negombo. To the south lie Beruwala and Bentota.
Best Time To Visit: December to March. Best Buys: Ruby, topaz and tea.
Arrive in Colombo and transfer to Negombo. Evening at leisure.
After breakfast, proceed to Kandy. Check in at the hotel. In the afternoon enjoy a city tour of Kandy, the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings. Visit the bazaar, the arts and crafts centre, gem lapidary and the Temple of the Tooth relic. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.
After breakfast, proceed to Colombo. Enroute visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage which is home to about 60 elephants. Arrive in Colombo and check in at your hotel. Evening enjoy a city tour of Colombo. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport.
